Privacy Policy

WinePlan is an app to help you plan your wine consumption.
It helps you work out whether you have enough Bordeaux to survive retirement, whether you accidentally bought too much 2016 white Burgundy, and which wines you really ought to be drinking before biology intervenes.
What it does not do is collect personal data.
The short version
WinePlan does not collect, store, sell, share, analyse, monetise, or otherwise meddle with your personal data.
There are no accounts. No advertising. No trackers. No analytics. No mysterious “engagement optimisation”. No third-party services quietly watching what you drink.
WinePlan runs entirely on your device.
Your wine data is stored locally on your device and, if you use Apple iCloud, synchronised through your personal iCloud account so that your information can appear across your devices.
We do not have access to this information.
In fact, one of the occasional downsides of this arrangement is that if something goes wrong, we can’t see your cellar either.
What information does WinePlan collect?
None.
WinePlan does not collect personal information.
We do not collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your wine collection
- your drinking plans
- analytics data
- advertising identifiers
- tracking information
- usage statistics
- crash reports tied to you
- any information about what you buy, drink, own, or plan to own
Your data stays with you.
Where is my data stored?
WinePlan stores your wine information on your device.
If you have iCloud synchronisation enabled on your Apple devices, your data may also be stored in your personal Apple iCloud account so that it can sync between devices.
This storage and synchronisation is provided by Apple as part of your iCloud service.
WinePlan does not operate servers for storing your data and we do not have access to your iCloud information.

Third-party services
WinePlan does not use third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or marketing services.
No advertising SDKs. No behavioural tracking. No hidden data brokers pretending to “improve your experience”.
The app simply does its job.
Support emails
If you contact us for support, we will use the information you provide (such as your email address and the contents of your message) only to respond to your enquiry and provide support.
We do not use support emails for marketing, profiling, or anything unexpected.
Data deletion
Because WinePlan does not maintain accounts or store your wine data on our servers, there is generally no account data for us to delete.
If you remove WinePlan from your device and delete its data (or remove data from iCloud), your information is removed from your own devices and Apple account.
Because we have no backup if things go wrong we strongly recommend that you regularly back-up your cellar data by exporting it using the export features that we provide.
Children
WinePlan is not directed at children under 18.
Also, if someone under 18 is seriously planning a long-term cellar strategy for mature Barolo, we are both impressed and slightly concerned.
Changes to this policy
If we change this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
We will continue to aim for a policy that is understandable by normal humans.
